Their power is why we teach math using story problems, but not reading using math problems; why the world's sacred texts are set down in narrative form rather than binary code; why we throw out expired medicine but keep old letters and photos until they're too faded to see.

As a writer and strategic communications advisor, I help individuals and organizations tell their most authentic and compelling stories to achieve their desired results. I believe the best stories have more than just a beginning, middle, and end -- they have a why. Why tell this particular story, to this particular audience, in this particular moment? It's only when we know what we want to say and why we're saying it that our stories can take on their deepest meaning.
